Railway Group D Salary 2023 Calculation

The Railway Group D Salary comes under Level 1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) matrix. To qualify Railway group D exam, Candidates have to give a Computer Based Test (CBT).

Candidates qualifying for the CBT shall have to undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). It will be followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.

House Rent Allowance (HRA) Calculation for Railway Group D

HRA depends on the Category of the City.

Category of City	House Rent Allowance (HRA)
Tier-I City (Population more than 50 Lakhs)	24% of Basic Pay
Tier-II City (Population between 5 to 50 Lakhs)	16% of Basic Pay
Tier-III City (Population less than 5 Lakhs)	8% of Basic Pay

Tier -I City	24% OF 18,000 = 4320
Tier-II City	16% OF 18,000 = 2880
Tier -III City	8% OF 18,000 = 1440

Calculation of Dearness Allowance (DA) for Railway Group D

The Central Government has increased has included the rate of dearness allowance (DA) payable to Central Government Employees to 34% with effect from 1st January 2022. Dearness Allowance is calculated on the Basic Pay.
